I must say... this is one of my favourite picture taken during the mission trip to Thailand last December. (Never mind the double chin and the bad hair.) Having kids surrounding you is a great feeling... you can feel their energy and their happiness just bursting forth. We had quite a number of opportunities to teach English in the local schools... really love doing that. They are rather 好学 in a way. They would take down notes when we're teaching upfront and some would take their own set of notes out when they hear something familiar or have learnt before. Being the photographer of the trip, I took the opportunity to roam around the school taking pictures, going from class to class while my team leader was teaching the class. There were many interesting sights to behold actually... I remembered one school with a huge motorcycle shed... a neato band room... while there are schools with makeshift bicycle area... chickens running around aimlessly... Haha. As I walked past some classes where we were not teaching, some of them would crowd round me asking for my name and laughing at it of cos - for some funny reasons. Some of them would request for me to help them take pictures and then asking me many questions about myself. All these with my limited Thai. Haha. I think Thais are an affectionate bunch of people... they'll just smile at you even if you don't know each other. They can make a conversation go on well you'll suspect you've just met each other. Gee. This is cool. I'm lovin' it. The more I talk to them, the more I wonder what it would be like if they all knew Christ. They would come to do so much more than we can ever expect.
