* Thursday, October 05, 2006 * This should no longer be taken for granted... nothing is supposed to be anything. So many times we would assume that things would turn out as it's supposed to be.. and when they don't, we would be utterly disappointed and question why things just don't fall into place. Ironically, the meaning of "suppose" is supposed to be to imagine, conjecture. Yet we think that it should happen as we 'suppose'. Like how students think that teachers are 'supposed' to be... well. A teacher. The problem is, they think that teachers are super-natural beings. They think that teachers can do so many things at the same time, not forgetting anything single nitty gritty thing that students tell them, have 48 hours a day and love the rebellion and troubles they make... oh. and being caring and patient when you refuse to hand in your projects after a few weeks?! Sorry. But teachers are not like that - although they'd try hard to sometimes. Don't suppose that teachers are what they supposed to be. HEY! I just realised... they are NOT supposed to be that in the very first place! But why do the students still assume that they are like that? This topic is getting interesting. In many places... we assume that things will turn out as it's supposed to, people would behave as they are supposed to... Many times it does turn out like that but there are also times when they don't. And when they don't, we'd be shocked and question how can things be the way it is when it's not 'suppose' to be. So are we all wrong? Does it mean that we can't assume things will turn out as it's 'supposed' to? Does it mean that we should not 'suppose' at all? Suppose things don't turn out as it's supposed to? How would you feel? Labels: Random
