Random Shots Part III

I'm taking photography this semester... It's one of the more 'relax' module i would say. Can take picture as and when you like - before the deadline that is. As much as i like the subject, the cost is rather overwhelming siah. Film, processing etc... all these cost money. All because i'm using a SLR. Every picture i take, i've to consider whether it's worth it or not. It's so different from using a digital camera where you can just take as much as you want and simply delete the unwanted ones away later... if you have taken a bad shot, you'll know it straight away and can take another one immediately... you can also transfer what you have taken directly into your computer... no processing = no payment.

As much as i'm complaining.. SLR is still the best. Once you've used an SLR, a digital camera is like nothing lah. The digital camera becomes a .... gadget you use for leisure, for fun. No serious stuff... it's just not as good. No control over shutter speed, aperture, lens choice, focus...

Now, that's when the digital SLR comes onto the stage! You can have the best of both worlds! I'm so going to get a digital SLR for myself when i start earning money... haha. Alright, before i can actually do that, here are some pictures i took using a Nikon F55...

I was telling myself that i'll be a wedding photographer if i can't make it in the film industry lah. It's so cool. I think that women are the prettiest when they are brides. Blessedness, joy, love are all written on their faces... heh. I took 2 pretty pretty pictures of the couple that day... BUT the santuary was not giving me enough light so i had to lower the shutter speed. BAD MOVE. I managed to hold my breath but i forgot that the couple was walking when i was taking the picture... their faces are all blurred. If not, it would have been perfect shots man.

The botak tree outside blk 52/53... I was supposed to take silhouette. I quite like taking silhouette leh... there's this sense of mystery. You see it yet you don't see it.

The tree outside shell station. When i first saw the picture, i thought it looks like a fake tree. hah. Anyways, i used a wide lens and went super near the tree... so there's a distortion at the bottom of the tree and at the same time, there's room for the branches and leaves.

In the cab to school.. wanted to take the reflection of the taxi driver through the rear mirror. But he saw me take my camera out and before i could do anything, he started a conversation about the media industry. He started by saying how bright my future is... how many job opportunities i'll have when i graduated... to how much money i'll earn... to how i cannot forget him when i make it big one day... HAHA. I can't even remember how he looks like. Took a super fast shot when he was not looking... thought it'd turn out blur but apparently not. heh. But this isn't the effect i wanted... oh wells.

Perfect example of a vital moment. Just as the sun shone from behind the church building... teehee. I quite like this picture actually. It's a half silhouette... The framing of main object in the centre is like signifying the church as the main body. The cross in the middle of the building represent Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to redeem the sins of all man, as the centre of Christians' lives. The sunlight signifies Christ and His followers being light of the world. Hmmm. I just came up with this from the top of my head lah... do discuss with me if you think there's something wrong. :)

I seriously don't remember taking this picture lor.... or rather i don't remember taking such a nice picture of h. bleah. Colour is good and her expression is perfecto! The subject is very clear also... we can see that she's leaning on to someone but we can't really see who (though i think most of us know it's grace). Well, you get my point..
